Carols at Whitbourne

This takes the place of our usual Tuesday rehearsal.  The carol concert starts at 7.30 but the choir should be there by 7.00 to sort out seating and warm up. Bromyard Community Carols at St. Peter’s Church

Elgar’s friend and publisher A J Jaeger wrote: “The scoring is kaleidoscopic in the variety of its colour schemes and one long feast for the connoisseur in orchestration”. Finlandia with Hereford Youth Orchestra

We are asked to join the audience to support Hereford Youth Orchestra (under the aegis of the County music service, Encore Enterprises CIC), of which Richard is joint conductor with Hazel Davis.  They are performing at St Peter's, Bromyard, a week after our Elgar concert at the Cathedral, and the programme will conclude with Sibelius's Finlandia; we will sing two verses of the familiar words at the relevant point during the work.  No special dress code.  We meet in the…

Haydn’s Creation in Bromyard

The first of our two concerts in the Society's Diamond Jubilee year will be a performance of Haydn's popular oratorio telling the familiar creation story from the book of Genesis. The Choral Society last sang this at its Golden Anniversary concert 10 years ago so it is a delight to sing it once again.
