Bromyard Choral Society is a registered charity (reg. no. 507020) with the charitable object of advancing the education of the public in the art of music with special reference to choral and vocal music.

The Choir comprises about 55 singers and performs a wide variety of music, sacred and secular, from the seventeenth to the twentieth century. In the UK, they have sung in Bromyard, Ledbury, Hereford, Tenbury and village churches, as well as touring in the Isle of Wight. Further afield, during recent years they have visited Normandy, Holland and Finland, enjoying exchanges with choirs from those countries.

The Choir generally engages professional or semi-professional soloists and accompanists for its concerts. Occasional vocal workshops take place led by professional singers.

New singing members are always welcome. There are no auditions but the ability to sing in tune is essential and some experience of music-reading is helpful. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings in term time from 7.30 to 9.30 in the Methodist Church Hall, New Road, Bromyard HR7 4AJ.

The Choir is supported by its team of Associate Members, who pay a small subscription each year and may help in front-of-house at concerts and at social events. Associate Members receive the Choir’s newsletters and are entitled to a discount if they book two concert seats.

Subscription rates can be found on the Membership info page; otherwise, for more details of singing or associate membership, please email or use the Contact page
